2025 Hotchkiss High School In-Person Summer Program

Class Description

The TCR History Camp will offer a two-week boarding session at Hotchkiss School in July 2025. We will provide more information soon.
 
TCR Summer Programs offer intensive workshops in history, research, and writing for high school students. These workshops provide a structured environment where students can work on historical research projects on topics of their choosing.

Students begin the program with a research topic and spend two weeks developing it into a publication-worthy essay. Throughout the program, they engage in various activities, including:

• Formulating productive research questions

• Finding and using primary and secondary sources

• Taking effective notes

• Examining model historical essays

• Exploring different analytical and narrative writing strategies

• Addressing issues of structure and organization

• Considering the philosophical dilemmas involved in studying history

The program also includes individualized sessions with instructors and ample independent study time in a fully-equipped research library.
